Available to students who have been to three Camp
BONA Summer Camps and requires financial assistance
for coaching in the areas of academics, sports
or the arts. (New in 2023)
Tyrell Harrison was a BONA Camper, a level nine gymnast, a competitive cheerleader, the younger brother of Camp BONA EOTO scholarship recipient Dante' Harrison and the son of Coach Wayland Harrison and Stephanie Harrison. Tyrell was a gifted athlete that had a passion for life that was truly contagious. Tyrell had the heart of a lion and a world class work ethic.
On December 14, 2023 Tyrell transitioned to the promise land after a courageous 22 month fight with Leukemia. The BONA Foundation honors Tyrell and the Harrison family by giving a $2500 scholarship to qualifying campers .
This scholarship is available to High School Juniors and Seniors who have been to at least three Camp BONA Leadership Camps and have a 2.8 GPA or better. Recipients receive $500 per year for college tuition, room or board.
Available to single parents who have a desire to improve their
current health standards, but are unable to due to financial circumstances. The intention of the
scholarship is to improve the health literacy of the parent with the hopes that the new health standards are mirrored by the children in the home. The scholarship pays
one third (⅓) of personal training fees, one hundred percent (100%) of supplementation fees, and a one hundred dollar ($100) per month
fresh food grocery stipend.
Bernice "Bunny" Shumpert loved to read and was an educator for over 30 years in South Carolina. Bernice taught several subjects throughout her teaching career, but had a special passion for teaching special education and helping adults get their GED. The BONA Foundation honors Bernice and the Shumpert family by giving a $2500 scholarship to qualifying campers.
This scholarship is available to high school Juniors and Seniors who have been to at least three Camp BONA Summer Camps and have a 2.8 GPA or better. Recipients receive $500 per year for college tuition, room or board. We currently have three (3) recipients of this scholarship and four (4) new eligible students in 2023.
